On an annual basis, hundreds of French cities dream of being one of many towns along the route in the Tour de France. Over two hundred towns are considered using a permanent basis to hold among the list of stages of the Vacation de France, and each has research an extensive selection process for being chosen.

The 2008 Tour p France race route will incorporate 21 stages, covering a total of 3, 500 kilometers. The stages will vary, as always, and this year's stages include ten flat periods, nine mountain climb stages (four of which are medium length), and two individual time period trial stages.

The race itself will become off with three flat stages, beginning on Saturday, July 5 and managing through Monday, July 7. A total of approximately 569 kilometers is going to be traversed as competitors start out in Brest and make their method to Nantes to end stage three. This is the first year since 1967 when the race will not commence with a prologue.

The second stage will be short, but intense as riders endure a hilly route, and the third stage will pass through the current hometown of Tour de France legend Bernard Hinault.
