The workshops' participants have identified the following ideas (causes/effects) related to this theme:
Business should support implications of theoretical information.
Business should be in contact with science. Business authorities should clearly explain their needs especially in terms of qualifications of students.
Business should work with more interns.
The universities are still closed into themselves and the knowledge that they produce, not valuing the contribution companies can make by the application and validation of the practice knowledge.
Creation of work, wealth and quality of life
Buy the knowledge, buy the ideas, feedback for new products, technologies, investment.
The scientific community expects that entrepreneurs believe in their role as enhancer of economic activity and, therefore, they establish channels of cooperation, and especially of financing. The objective is that beneficial partnerships can be created.
Business should explain clearly what the needs are from science
Businesses should participates more actively in defining curriculum needs
Portability of developed knowledge. Guidelines for the industry and market needs. Investment in R & D projects. Investment in human resources with scientific qualifications.
We should have increased focus on development and less on profit.
The way of developing businesses has been changing and growing very quickly. The development of scientific studies on the changing business may actually be an advantage. However, the academic sciences, on issues related just to the theory of the themes, makes the teaching of science about business a quite far from the reality of the organizations.
Access to companies for placement of students in a business context and having return of feedback. Cash on education as the only task: Universities are focused on cash processing (art for the art’s sake and not for a specific outcome).
Have more fund for research
Have partners able to risk in innovative projects
Have a field where they can test innovative projects
Have available also laboratories and other facilities from the private sectors
Have businesses as sponsors
Count on businesses as strategic partners
Common aspects:enterprises have to invest more in R&D, not only money but also giving a more direct access to placement services to students and making available their facilities. Moreover they should establish more direct links with R&D institutions in order to clearly explain their needs. It is important to underline asthe scientific communityexpectsthatentrepreneursbelieveintheirrole for boosting economic development.Beneficial partnerships can be created, if entrepreneurs will be able to overcome the existing mistrust.
